Last Sunday I competed in my last competition of the season.
It was the big one ! The British Championships !
After my top 6 placing at the Arnolds I was still buzzing. I had set myself a goal this time of top 3. I was determined to get it. My gymnastics teacher and I fit in 3 intense gymnastics sessions to try and tweak and add to my routine in those 2 short weeks between comps, and my coach Eddie wanted to bring me in even tighter.
I soon surpassed my goal and landed the runner up spot ! 2nd place against the amazing Emma Paveley, who won the recent Arnolds title, and is the 3 x British Champ. My second ever time competing in the fitness category and I came runner up to her ! BUZZING. To me this felt like a personal win. I honestly was aiming for that 3rd spot. I believed that could be mine. Of course I believed that better than that was still possible, and I proved that I could do it ! Those little tweaks were so damn worth it and donning a silver, glitzy bikini and presenting my usual over the top, happy self worked wonders.
My goal now is to improve even more and go for gold next year.
I know I have what it takes. It's just applying it, working as hard as I possibly can and bringing the best me to each and every competition I enter next year.
My placing has qualified me for next years British, Arnolds and Diamond Cup. My focus is to try and qualify for the Europeans and Worlds too so watch this space.
It's off season time ... but not for long :D
